About this profile

What this test is, and isn't

Owner-authored profile

All 50 questions were written for psychprofile. This profile is not based on the AQ-10 (Cambridge ARC), the AQ-28, or any other validated clinical instrument. The questions explore patterns across seven trait areas rather than applying a research-validated screening threshold.

The lower, mixed, and elevated bands are owner-defined and driven by your match count out of 50. They are descriptive labels, not clinical cut-offs.

What the result tells you

Your result leads with how many of your 50 answers match what autistic adults commonly report. It then reads your pattern back area by area, marking each one Low, Average, or High and giving a short interpretation of what showed up.

It cannot tell you whether you are autistic. Only a qualified clinician can do that, after a structured assessment that considers history, context, and other possible explanations.

Why not the AQ-10?

The AQ-10 is a Cambridge ARC research instrument available for non-commercial use only. This site has planned paid features, which would constitute commercial use under Cambridge ARC's terms.

This profile was built as an alternative: deeper coverage across seven trait areas, clearly framed as self-reflection rather than clinical screening, with no AQ-10 items, scoring, or positioning anywhere.

Common questions

Before you take it

Can this test tell me if I'm autistic?

No. This profile is not a diagnostic tool and cannot tell you whether you are autistic. Only a qualified clinician can do that, after a structured assessment. This profile is a self-reflection tool to help you recognise patterns before deciding whether to seek a formal assessment.

Is this based on the AQ-10?

No. This is entirely owner-authored. The AQ-10 is a Cambridge ARC instrument restricted to non-commercial research use. This profile uses 50 original questions written for psychprofile, covering seven trait areas: social reciprocity, sensory sensitivity, routine and predictability, focused interests, communication style, emotional processing, and masking and social energy.

How long does it take?

Most people finish in about 5 minutes. There's no timer. You can pause and come back. Your progress is held locally on your device.

What happens to my answers?

Your answers are scored on our server and the result is delivered back to you. We log a non-identifying conversion event (the result band and demographic bands) but not your raw answers or any contact details. Full details in our privacy policy.

Can I take this if I'm under 18?

This profile was developed for adults. The questions and result framing are calibrated for adult experience, so the result is most meaningful if you're 18 or older. The test is not blocked for younger users, but the results page includes a reminder that the profile is designed for adults.

Is this private?

Your answers don't carry any identifier while you take the test. The conversion log keeps only the result band and demographic band — not raw answers, IP, contact details, or any other identifier. We don't sell your data. See our privacy policy for the full picture, including the sub-processor that handles result delivery.
